Southeastern Freight Lines marks 50 years in Albany, Ga.

Southeastern Freight Lines is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its service center in Albany, Georgia, marking a significant milestone for the regional carrier. Since its opening in 1976, the facility has more than doubled its capacity and workforce to meet growing regional demand. This anniversary highlights the company's long-term stability and its role in the local freight infrastructure within the Southeastern United States.

The Albany service center, located at 1115 Centennial Avenue, originally opened its doors on July 5, 1976. At its inception, the facility operated with 20 dock doors and a team of 18 employees. Over the past five decades, the site has expanded significantly to accommodate 44 dock doors and currently employs 37 associates. This location represented the ninth service center established by Southeastern Freight Lines, which was originally founded in 1950.

Service center manager Craig Parrish stated that reaching the 50-year mark is an incredible milestone that demonstrates the associates' commitment to customer service. To honor the occasion, the company highlighted the longevity of its staff, specifically recognizing 15 employees who have been with the Albany location for 25 to 41 years. Parrish noted that by embracing the company's internal culture, the center has been able to foster the long-term relationships with customers and partners necessary to support decades of growth in the Georgia market.

In addition to its logistical role, the Albany service center actively engages with the local community through the Southeastern Serves outreach program. This corporate initiative facilitates support for various charitable organizations, including Kids Against Hunger and the Little League Challenger program. By combining operational expansion with community involvement, Southeastern Freight Lines aims to maintain a stable and positive presence in the regions where it operates, a strategy that has supported its evolution from a 1950 startup to a multi-facility regional carrier.
