SEDA Strengthens Its Mining & Metals Expertise with the Addition of Alastair McIntyre

SEDA Experts LLC has appointed Alastair McIntyre as Managing Director to enhance its specialized financial expert witness services within the mining and metals industry. McIntyre brings decades of experience in metals banking, trading, and mine development to the firm, having served in senior roles across North America, Australia, and Asia. This appointment strengthens SEDA’s ability to provide technical and financial advisory services for complex sector-specific litigation, M&A, and capital raising.

SEDA Experts LLC, a leading financial expert witness firm, has announced that Alastair McIntyre has joined as Managing Director to bolster its mining and metals expertise. McIntyre is a specialist in precious and base metals markets with extensive experience in metals banking, trading, and mine development. His expertise covers a wide range of financial and operational areas, including physical and derivative transactions, royalty agreements, off-take and metal loan arrangements, and technical due diligence. Managing Partner Peter Selman noted that McIntyre’s addition is a strategic move to provide critical industry-specific insights to the firm's clients.

McIntyre currently holds leadership positions as the President, CEO, and Board Member of Altiplano Metals, overseeing copper-gold production and processing operations in Chile, and as President of Malagash Metals and Mining Limited. His career includes significant advisory roles, such as serving as the commercial advisor for the Hong Kong Stock Exchange’s US$2.1 billion acquisition of the London Metal Exchange. He also previously served as Senior Managing Director for Asia at Behre Dolbear, where he led technical and financial reviews for IPO listings on the Hong Kong and Singapore stock exchanges.

Before his advisory roles, McIntyre spent more than ten years at Scotiabank/ScotiaMocatta in senior positions focused on metals marketing, derivatives, and structured products. His professional background also includes experience with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Natixis, and the Royal Canadian Mint. A Professional Geologist (P.Geo) and Chartered Professional with AusIMM, McIntyre holds degrees in Geology and Business Administration from Dalhousie University. His deep technical and financial background enables him to provide expert testimony in complex litigation involving precious metals and tax matters.
