Cognizant Named a Leader in the Everest Group Industry 4.0 Services PEAK Matrix Assessment 2025

Everest Group has recognized Cognizant as a Leader in its 2025 Industry 4.0 Services PEAK Matrix Assessment, highlighting the company's extensive capabilities in engineering and digital manufacturing. The evaluation of 30 global service providers underscores the critical role of partners in scaling intelligent, connected industrial environments across complex operations. This recognition reflects a broader industry shift toward AI-enabled solutions and digital twins as essential tools for modernizing manufacturing and improving operational resilience.

Everest Group's third edition of the Industry 4.0 Services PEAK Matrix evaluated 30 engineering service providers based on their vision, capabilities, and market impact. Cognizant was designated a Leader due to its comprehensive service suite covering advisory, engineering, implementation, and managed services. Nishant Udupa, Practice Director at Everest Group, noted that Cognizant’s position is bolstered by its competencies in embedded software engineering, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), and intellectual property (IP) related to predictive analytics, business intelligence, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), and digital twins.

The assessment highlights Cognizant’s strategic acquisitions, such as Mobica and TQS Integration, which have significantly expanded its reach into connected factory transformations and embedded software. The company’s IP-led approach and diversified client base across multiple geographies and industries were cited as key strengths in its deal-origination strategy. Furthermore, Cognizant has continued to invest in dedicated labs and Centers of Excellence (CoEs) focusing on robotics, cybersecurity, edge computing, and remote networking to address high-priority use cases like smart energy management and asset tracking.

According to Vibha Rustagi, SVP and Global Practice Head of IoT & Engineering at Cognizant, Industry 4.0 has transitioned from experimentation to a focus on intelligent, autonomous operations that scale decision-making across physical environments. The firm aims to combine deep engineering expertise with AI and data platforms to help clients modernize operations and create long-term value. This shift reflects a broader industry trend where enterprises seek to integrate asset performance optimization and predictive maintenance to achieve measurable business outcomes in a secure and trusted manner.
