Bosch SDS and NxtGen to launch sovereign AI cloud to power India’s Industry 4.0 transformation

Bosch Software and Digital Solutions has partnered with NxtGen to launch a sovereign industrial AI cloud aimed at accelerating India’s Industry 4.0 transformation. This collaboration integrates Bosch’s Digital Twin and simulation platforms with NxtGen’s secure cloud infrastructure and GPU-as-a-Service offerings. By hosting AI workloads locally, the initiative enables Indian manufacturers to modernize operations while ensuring strict compliance with national data residency and security regulations.

Bosch SDS and NxtGen are combining their technical strengths to provide a localized infrastructure for mission-critical industrial applications through a new "Digital Twin – Manufacturing Cloud." This initiative merges NxtGen’s sovereign orchestration stack and managed GPU infrastructure with Bosch’s IoT and engineering platforms, allowing enterprises to deploy high-performance AI for predictive maintenance and asset optimization. The partnership specifically addresses the need for secure, compliant industrial data orchestration from the edge to the cloud, ensuring sensitive operational data remains under the manufacturer's control.

Ramesh Ramaswamy, Chief Revenue Officer at Bosch SDS, noted that the partnership offers flexible deployment models, including "Cloud-at-Customer" setups where GPU infrastructure is deployed on-site while being centrally managed. This approach is designed to guide customers toward an "agentic AI" journey, moving beyond traditional digital transformation to create truly cognitive enterprises through AI model orchestration and inferencing pipelines. NxtGen will provide the managed infrastructure services, including 24/7 monitoring and Kubernetes-based orchestration, while Bosch SDS contributes domain-led AI applications and solution integration.

The collaboration also introduces several co-branded industry solutions, such as the Retail AI Suite (NIA) and an integrated Industry 4.0 platform for edge data centers. AS Rajgopal, MD and CEO of NxtGen, highlighted that the evolution of AI from dashboards to real-time operational control necessitates local, production-grade infrastructure. By offering a sovereign AI foundry and Model-as-a-Service, the partners aim to transition Indian manufacturing from experimental workloads to mission-critical systems, providing the predictable performance required for modern industrial competition.
