Coast and Fleetio Deepen Partnership to Unite Fuel and Fleet Maintenance Data

Coast and Fleetio have announced an expanded partnership that integrates fuel payment and spend management data directly into the Fleetio maintenance platform. This new embedded experience aims to eliminate the historical divide between fleet operations and financial management by providing a singular workflow for fuel and maintenance expenses. For fleet managers, this integration offers real-time visibility into the total cost of vehicle ownership while reducing the administrative burden of manual data reconciliation.

The collaboration introduces a native experience where fleet managers can apply for and manage Coast cards directly within the Fleetio interface. This integration ensures that every fuel, fleet, and maintenance purchase is automatically synchronized and matched to specific vehicles, drivers, and business cost centers. By centralizing these data points, the system generates more accurate reporting on key performance indicators such as miles per gallon, cost per mile, and total cost of ownership without requiring manual spreadsheet entry.

Historically, fleet operations and payments have functioned in silos, with maintenance tracked in one system and fuel spending managed through separate card providers. This fragmentation often led to hours of manual reconciliation and an incomplete financial picture. The new partnership addresses these inefficiencies by allowing finance and operations teams to work from a single source of truth. Additionally, Fleetio customers using Coast cards benefit from waived transaction fees across the Fleetio Maintenance Shop Network, which comprises approximately 110,000 repair shops.

Leaders from both companies emphasized the importance of integrated workflows for modern fleet management. Phil Mirisola, Director of BD and Strategic Partnerships at Coast, noted that bringing payments into the existing fleet workflow provides operators with necessary controls to keep spending in check. Miles Rand, Director of Product - Maintenance at Fleetio, added that the integration facilitates faster decision-making through greater clarity on expenditures. Fleetio currently supports over 8 million vehicles and 8,500 fleets globally, processing more than 13 million repair orders annually, making this integration a significant scale-up for Coast’s spend management infrastructure.
