Ocean Power Technologies (OPT) has achieved Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 2 compliance, a critical milestone for its participation in federal defense programs. This certification allows the company to handle Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), which is a prerequisite for an increasing number of contracts with the U.S. Department of War and other government agencies. By meeting these rigorous standards, OPT strengthens its position as a provider of autonomous maritime solutions and maritime intelligence for national security missions.

Ocean Power Technologies announced on July 29 that it reached CMMC Level 2 compliance, a move designed to bolster its standing within the U.S. defense industrial base. This level of certification is specifically required for handling Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and aligns with the evolving cybersecurity standards mandated by the Department of War.
