TSG Invest Adds Flock Safety to Venture 50 Research Coverage

TSG Invest has expanded its Venture 50 Index to include research coverage of Flock Safety, a prominent public safety technology firm specializing in AI-driven surveillance. This move highlights Flock Safety’s rapid growth within the sector, where its license plate recognition cameras and drones are now utilized by over 5,000 law enforcement agencies. The inclusion underscores the increasing investor interest in high-valuation private companies that provide critical infrastructure for modern policing and crime deterrence.

TSG Invest, a multi-entity financial services firm based in Hauppauge, New York, announced the addition of Flock Safety to its proprietary Venture 50 Index of mid-to-late-stage private companies. Founded in 2017 by Garrett Langley, Atlanta-based Flock Safety has become a major provider of license plate recognition cameras, drones, and AI-powered software for police departments, neighborhoods, and businesses. The firm’s research coverage aims to provide accredited investors with detailed insights into the company’s founding, business model, and valuation history as it approaches a potential IPO.

The company has shown aggressive financial growth, reaching a valuation of $8.4 billion in April 2026, a significant increase from its $7.5 billion valuation in March 2025 following a $275 million funding round led by Andreessen Horowitz. Flock Safety surpassed $300 million in annual recurring revenue in early 2025, marking a 70 percent increase year-over-year, and has raised nearly $1 billion in total funding to date. This rapid scaling from a $3.5 billion valuation in 2022 positions the firm as one of the most valuable entities in the public safety technology space.

TSG Invest CEO Drew Spaventa highlighted that while Flock is scaling quickly, it remains a focal point of national debates over surveillance and privacy. Some cities have already paused or ended contracts with the company due to these tensions, which TSG Invest identifies as a key risk factor for potential investors. The Venture 50 Index tracks these developments to offer a comprehensive view of the public safety tech market, balancing the company's technological adoption against the regulatory and social challenges inherent in widespread surveillance deployment.
