FIAA 2026 to Showcase Next Generation of Bus Safety and Fleet Management

The International Bus and Coach Fair (FIAA 2026) is set to take place in Madrid, highlighting the integration of artificial intelligence and connected infrastructure within the public transport sector. This event will feature a wide range of technologies designed to enhance operational efficiency, passenger safety, and driver awareness for bus and coach operators. For the fleet management industry, these advancements represent a significant shift toward data-driven decision-making and automated safety protocols in the transition to electrified fleets.

FIAA 2026, scheduled for September 22–24 at IFEMA Madrid, will serve as a launchpad for AI-powered safety systems aimed at reducing urban collisions. Winfin will introduce its Vision360 AI camera system to eliminate blind spots, while Arcol plans to showcase the eMirror Compact digital replacement for traditional mirrors. Additionally, Azimut Electronics and City Life (EYSaS) will present warning systems designed to protect pedestrians and cyclists at blind junctions and stationary bus stops. Masats will also debut AIDA, an AI vision system that identifies passengers needing boarding assistance, demonstrating how AI is being leveraged to improve accessibility.

The exhibition will place a heavy emphasis on fleet management and operational software, with Cojali presenting its Jaltest Telematics platform. This system integrates multi-brand remote diagnostics with real-time ecodriving analysis, allowing fleet managers to monitor vehicle performance and energy consumption more effectively. Movertis will further support real-time monitoring through AI-driven virtual assistants and dynamic dashboards focused on fuel consumption. Meanwhile, Hanover Display will exhibit CANBus-compatible driver consoles that link directly to the Hanover Cloud management platform, streamlining data flow between the vehicle and the back office.

Beyond vehicle monitoring, the event will feature advancements in passenger interaction and driver ergonomics. GMV will showcase its ITS Suite for account-based ticketing and EMV payments, while Busmatick Group and SINFE will introduce modular ticketing architectures and real-time bus tracking for passengers. Driver-focused innovation will be highlighted by SENPTEC’s Digital Driver’s Workplace, which utilizes biometric recognition to automatically adjust seating and vehicle settings. These developments reflect a broader industry trend where manufacturers are increasingly merging automated safety features and connected platforms with the ongoing shift toward vehicle electrification.
