Cyprus Marine Club Hosts Record Gathering Featuring MSC Shipmanagement CEO

The Cyprus Marine Club recently hosted its most well-attended event to date, bringing together approximately 200 maritime professionals to discuss the strategic importance of the island's shipping cluster. The gathering featured a keynote address from Prabhat Jha, CEO of MSC Shipmanagement, who highlighted the evolution of the world's largest shipping line and its deep-rooted operations in Cyprus. Capt. Eberhard Koch, President of the Cyprus Marine Club, opened the landmark event by welcoming approximately 200 members and guests, marking a record attendance for the organization. During his remarks, Koch announced the expansion of the Club’s network with the addition of new corporate members Guma Tech and EMA, alongside individual member Aristotelis Moutafis. He also took the opportunity to observe the Day of the Seafarer, paying tribute to the global seafaring community for their essential role in maintaining global trade and their ongoing resilience within the maritime industry.

The central focus of the evening was a keynote presentation by Prabhat Jha, Group Managing Director and CEO of MSC Shipmanagement Limited, titled “Cyprus at the Heart of the World’s Largest Shipping Line: The MSC Shipmanagement Success Story.” Introduced by Sunil Kapoor, Board Member of the Club and COO of OL Shipping Group, Jha was recognized for his transition from a marine engineer to a top executive and his significant contributions to the Cyprus maritime ecosystem.
