Hopae Adds Brazil’s Digital Driver’s License to IDV Platform

Hopae has integrated Brazil’s digital driver’s license (digital CNH) into its Hopae Connect platform to facilitate real-time identity verification and biometric matching. This expansion targets Brazil’s massive digital identity ecosystem, which includes over 68 million active digital CNH users, as part of the company's broader entry into the Latin American market. The move is significant for the digital identity sector as it leverages official government data sources to provide high-assurance verification for regulated industries such as fintech and cryptocurrency.

Hopae’s integration of the digital CNH allows the Hopae Connect platform to perform real-time identity verification (IDV) by cross-referencing user data with official Brazilian government records. The process utilizes secure QR code decoding and facial biometric matching, comparing a live selfie against photos held by the National Traffic Secretariat (SENATRAN) and the federal tax authority. This development is designed to curb identity fraud and streamline customer onboarding for businesses operating in Brazil, where the digital driver’s license has become a primary credential for identity verification.

The company is positioning this service to meet the high-stakes requirements of regulated sectors, including fintech, cryptocurrency, and online gambling.
