VINCI Construction Awarded €210 Million Contract for Second Phase of New Reims Hospital

The Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Reims has selected VINCI Construction to lead the development of the second building in the New Reims Hospital complex. This project, valued at a total of €210 million excluding tax, involves the construction of a 58,000-square-meter facility designed to modernize healthcare delivery through cutting-edge medical platforms and expanded capacity. For the construction sector, this contract highlights the ongoing demand for complex healthcare infrastructure and reinforces VINCI's dominant position in the French medical facility market.

The works contract for the new Madeleine Brès building represents a significant investment in regional healthcare, with €157 million of the total €210 million value allocated specifically to VINCI Construction. The project execution is being managed by a consortium led by Pargade Architectes and involves the creation of a seven-story structure spanning 58,000 square meters. Once completed, the facility will accommodate 498 beds and house a variety of specialized zones, including high-tech medical platforms, a hospital pharmacy, and dedicated areas for chronic diseases and neuroscience.

Construction is scheduled to span 45 months, presenting a significant logistical challenge as the hospital must remain in ordinary working order throughout the duration of the build. Beyond the patient-facing areas, the scope of work includes the development of reception and diagnosis spaces, an in-patient zone, and essential logistics and technical control rooms. To ensure seamless operations across the campus, the new building will be strategically connected to existing structures to maintain a continuous flow of staff, patients, and supplies.

This latest award follows VINCI Construction's successful involvement in the first building of the New Reims Hospital complex, further solidifying the group's reputation for high-stakes healthcare infrastructure. The project is part of a broader trend of hospital modernization across France, where VINCI is currently engaged in several major builds, including the New Lariboisière in Paris, the Nantes CHU, and the reconstruction of hospitals in Caen and Lens. These projects underscore the technical expertise required to deliver modern medical facilities that integrate advanced technology and improved patient care standards.
