Newmark Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: NMRK) has hired Munish Viralam as Executive Vice Chairman to head its Real Estate Strategy & Consulting Group, a practice designed to support clients through the complexities of commercial real estate transactions. Based in New York, Viralam will lead a team that merges Newmark’s New York Consulting and Financial Services units, including senior professionals Jason Perla and Romel Cañete. The group functions as a centralized resource for Newmark’s brokerage teams, providing specialized services such as financial analysis, operational considerations, market assessments, and the structuring of lease negotiations to optimize opportunities for clients involved in large or multi-market transactions.

Barry Gosin, Chief Executive Officer of Newmark, emphasized that the most successful real estate outcomes are driven by rigorous planning and strategic analysis long before a deal is finalized. Viralam brings nearly 20 years of experience to the role, having specialized in designing strategies for complex occupancy requirements and overseeing the negotiation of major corporate tenant transactions. He joins Newmark from CBRE, where he was twice honored as the Consulting Group's Professional of the Year. This leadership addition comes as Newmark continues its global expansion; for the twelve months ending March 31, 2026, the company reported revenues exceeding $3.4 billion.
