Texas RRC Expands DOGE Task Force to Streamline Oil and Gas Regulation

The RRC is prioritizing the development of enhanced online filing tools, a new single sign-on platform, and a more integrated regulatory system to minimize duplicative data submissions. Additionally, the agency plans to expand its Open Data Portal to improve permit tracking and stakeholder communication, ensuring that industry participants have better access to critical regulatory information.

Beyond digital modernization, the DOGE Task Force is focusing on standardizing inspections and enforcement activities across all RRC districts through improved guidance and training. The commission also intends to bolster its orphan well and critical infrastructure programs by increasing contractor competition and improving data quality.
