LSEG Introduces Deep Research AI Agent in Workspace

London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) has launched Deep Research, a new AI agent integrated into the LSEG Workspace platform and Microsoft Teams. Designed for investment professionals, the tool aims to streamline the process of converting vast amounts of structured and unstructured data into actionable financial intelligence. By automating complex research workflows, the agent addresses the challenges of data fragmentation and high volumes of information across financials, transcripts, and news.

Deep Research allows users to pose complex financial questions using natural language, which the agent then processes by orchestrating queries across LSEG’s extensive datasets. The tool is specifically built to handle both structured financial data and unstructured content like news and research reports, helping investment teams move faster from initial inquiry to decision-ready insights. According to Nej D’Jelal, Group Head of Workflows at LSEG, the agent is designed to provide answers grounded in trusted data with reasoning that users can trace directly back to the original source.

To meet institutional-grade standards, LSEG has focused on making the AI agent’s outputs transparent, explainable, and auditable. Responses generated by Deep Research include citations and clear reasoning, which helps build user confidence in the insights provided for core workflows such as company analysis, idea generation, and client preparation. Furthermore, the platform enables seamless sharing of these research outputs with other Workspace users through the Open Directory, facilitating collaboration within investment teams.

The introduction of Deep Research comes as a response to the increasing difficulty investment professionals face when managing fragmented systems and growing data volumes. LSEG plans to continue expanding the agent's capabilities by integrating additional datasets, including corporate actions, ownership information, and economic release calendars. This ongoing expansion aims to broaden the tool’s market and economic coverage, further solidifying its role as a central component of the LSEG Workspace ecosystem for data-driven decision-making.
